One of the benefits of living in a large city is access to all kinds of international cuisine. I just moved from Los Angeles to the outskirts of Austin. It is beautiful here, but one thing I have missed is the huge selection of Thai restaurants. Fortunately, this recipe hits all the tastes buds that crave a good Thai Basil Beef. Now I can make this at home, any time.
Sambal Olek is a chili paste readily available at most supermarkets but also online at Amazon here.
If you have several choices of fish sauce I recommend Red Boat for the depth of flavor.
